It takes leadership, thought, time and community partnerships for emergency plans to encompass the whole community.  Disability Advisory Groups can be used to provide cross-disability perspectives for local/state emergency management to reach successful disability integration and whole community planning.

 

The 90-minute webinar will discuss the following:

  • The models and approaches used in Idaho and Washington to establish disability advisory groups;
  • How disability advisory groups are providing guidance on equal access to effective communication; physical access; access to programs, goods and services and how this applies to emergency management plans;
  • How disability advisers to emergency management  can work together at the local, state, and federal levels.
