Course Description

An overview of TBI will be provided with an emphasis on those functional limitations which can present as barriers to employment.  We will review the kinds of compensatory strategies individuals with TBI may find useful in employment and the range of accommodations--both self-accommodations and employer provided accommodations, including technology--that may be useful.  We also will discuss the role of natural supports and supported employment in maintaining employment.

Learning Objectives

1. Identify functional limitations commonly associated with traumatic brain injury and, significant in the employment environment.

2. Identify specific approaches to supporting individuals with traumatic brain injury.
